For the first time in Africa. The Alberto and Annette Giacometti Foundation present an exhibition dedicated to Alberto Giacometti in Rabat with over 100 major works.
Born in 1901 and died in 1966, Giacometti was a prolific artist who not only sculpted, but also painted, drew, engraved, created decorative art objects or worked plaster. The exhibition is divided into three sections devoted to the influences of different movements of his work: the phase of Cubism and Surrealism, the maturity and finally that of the issue of the placement of the figure in space. Besides the strong influence of African art over his work of art. One more reason not to miss this exceptional retrospective.
Museum Mohammed VI of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat, until September 4, 2016.
